Expanding the blog topics

As discussed in class this week, we will expand the topics covered in this blog -- and let students posted about media ethics issues beyond politics. So, students, you can blog about a media-realted issue even if it has nothing to do with the presidential election. The issue might involve news censorship (think China and the Olympics), offensive advertising and other subject.

All of the other instructions for your blogging assignment stay the same:

You must post five blog items.

To receive full credit, a posting must be at least 250 words and contain at least one link to a news story, an advertisement, a press release, a Web site or other material.

You should summarize the facts that are important to your blog item, then comment on the facts (giving your analysis, opinion or interpretation). A blog posting should be 50-75% facts and the remainder should be your own thoughts.

In addition to your five blog postings, you must post at least two comments on other students' blog items. Your comments must be at least 100 words each.
