Clinton, Just Like Everyone Else?

Hilary Clinton is once again under fire for her campaign antics. The media is constantly surrounding Hilary and every single one of her actions is being closely captured. You would think that Clinton would be more careful since the media has been adamant in picking apart all of her words and actions, but Clinton must think otherwise. Recent pictures have surfaced on CNN and numerous other websites that show Clinton taking a shot of Crown Royal whiskey at a local restaurant. Naturally, scrutiny arose immediately and articles were written. It was also said that Hilary drank beer later that night and ate pizza. It is possible that she maybe be looking to appear more normal and like an average American by partaking in these actions. Voters may look at her and feel that if she is more like them than Clinton would be better suited to address their needs and issues as President. This is the most likely theory to Clinton’s behavior. In this instance, I do feel that it is unfortunate that the media must make a story out of every little thing. Paparazzi, especially with the main Presidential candidates, have reached abnormal heights and reporters are constantly trying to find new stories. On the other hand, Clinton is aware of this scrutiny and, though I believe in free will and choice, maybe taking a shot of whiskey and drinking beer in front of numerous cameras was not the smartest idea. As a Presidential candidate she needs to be aware of her actions, even if they seem normal and routine like to her because the media will take a piece of information and run with it.

I must admit that is an amusing photograph. The fact that this sort of thing would make headlines is a little bizarre. What next, picking her nose?
Ultimately it shows we want the best candidate for the job. The most utopian, perfect, smartest person to run the country. There's nothing wrong with that. It just seems a little naive to assume it exists. Desite a blog on ethics, I have to bring up the question of morals. The Clinton family has seen plenty of scrutiny there. Now, with the rising speed and guerilla skills of the media, what won't be unveiled? And we will realize - gasp - that politicians are people too!?

What next, the Catholic church?
